Herbarium Croaticum

 

The Faculty of Science holds two oldest and largest collections of briophytes, ferns and higher plants in Croatia. Herbarium Croaticum (ZA) collection holds an estimate of 230 000 specimens collected throughout Croatia and worldwide over the past 200 years. Herbarium Ivo and Marija Horvat (ZAHO) collection holds 71,611 herbarium specimens collected in Croatia and the Balkan Peninsula.

 

The most important mission of these collections is permanent storage and preservation of plant material used in different studies.
